Poas Volcano had Another Eruption With Red-Colored ash

Around 6:29 a.m. this Friday, the Poás Volcano had a new eruption that lasted for close to 10 minutes and was captured by the cameras of the National Seismology Network (RSN); the eruption concluded with the emanation of reddish colored ash.

The color, according to Dr. Mauricio Mora from the RSN obeys to an oxidation process which is normal and has been occurring for several weeks. The coloration can be seen at the peak of the crater, however, once it is dispersed by the wind it can no longer be noticed. Read more
