Mumbai gets 127mm of rain in 12 hours, highest in three years

The city recorded 126.6mm rain in just 12 hours (8.30am and 8.30pm) on Monday — a record as the 12-hour rainfall figure surpassed the highest 24-hour rain levels for July over the past two years.

Till 11.30pm on Monday, the city recorded 139.8mm — the highest July rain in three years.

Mumbaiites woke up to heavy rain on Monday. Between 8.30am and 11.30pm, the Santacruz weather station, representative of the suburbs, recorded 139.8mm rain. The Colaba weather station, representative of south Mumbai, recorded 48.6mm rain. Read more
